About Us
Passion Flower Care began at home, with our son. He is non-verbal, has level 3 autism, and is God's gift to our family. Every day he teaches us to slow down, keep an open mind and read how he's feeling, even when he can't tell us in words.
Raising him has brought us a lot of joy. It has also taught us plenty the hard way. One of our biggest worries was what would happen after school. When the routines and support he relied on came to an end, we didn't know where to turn or what to do next.
If you're in that place now, for your child or for someone you care for, we've been there too. You're not on your own.
What we wanted for our son was simple. We wanted his days to have structure and meaning, with room to keep learning, enjoy the things he loves, spend time with other people and grow at his own pace. We knew plenty of other families wanted the same. After a lot of tears and soul-searching, we decided to build it ourselves. That's how Passion Flower Care started.
How we can help
Today we support people with disability aged 6 to 65 in Sydney and on the Central Coast. We're an NDIS registered provider, and our services include:
- Personal care and support with daily routines at home
- Community outings, social activities and group programs
- One-on-one support to learn practical life skills
- Help with travel and transport
- School holiday programs
- Respite care and short-term accommodation
We start by getting to know you
Everyone is different, so we start by listening. We want to know what the person enjoys, how they communicate, where they could use a hand and what they'd like to work towards. That might be cooking a meal on their own, feeling more confident out in the community, making new friends or settling into a calmer routine.
We work closely with participants and with the families and support networks around them. Because we're parents ourselves, we know what it's like to be on the other side, and that shapes how we care. But it's the person's own choices and needs that decide what we do.
Looking ahead
When we started, the dream was a day program for people leaving school: somewhere with real purpose, where they could keep learning rather than lose the routines and skills they'd built. We haven't lost sight of that.
Further down the track, we'd like to open a Disability Innovation Centre, a place where participants and our support workers can learn and train together.
